International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Deficiency 2019

The International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Deficiency 2019 opens today in Rome

The first day’s speeches will focus on iron deficiency in the areas of paediatrics and gynaecology.

This afternoon, at 2:00 pm, the 7th edition of the IMCID (International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Deficiency) will open at the NH Collection Hotel in Rome. The two-day course, organised by PharmaNutra S.p.A. in partnership with Zambon, aims to provide insights into the topic of iron deficiency in various and numerous clinical areas and expects doctors and researchers from all over the world to attend.

After the usual introduction of the Scientific Committee – comprising Professor Sandro Barni (Emeritus Director of the Oncology Department at Treviglio Hospital), Professor Manuel Muñoz (Department of Surgical Specialties, Biochemistry and Immunology at the University of Malaga and member of NATA’s Board of Directors) and Dr Germano Tarantino (Chief Scientific Officer at PharmaNutra S.p.A.) – today’s programme includes a total of 12 speeches, divided, respectively, into 4 sessions.
The International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Deficiency 2019 will begin with a first in-depth session on Patient Blood Management (PBM) in obstetrics and paediatrics. It will be followed by a second session on iron deficiency and supplementation in neonatology and paediatrics, followed by a third, focusing, on the other hand, on the gynaecology and obstetrics sector. The first day will end will a focus on Sucrosomial Iron® and its innovative absorption mechanism.

“The 7th edition of the IMCID is one of the most important events of the year for PharmaNutra. One of the main differences with the last two editions is the international reach of this congress. It is not easy to find a congress with more than thirty countries represented.”, said Andrea Lacorte, President of PharmaNutra S.p.A..
As Lacorte explains “Iron deficiency is truly a multidisciplinary issue and it is incredible to see professors, doctors and researchers from all over the world and from different medical specialties working with Sucrosomial® Iron and to verify how satisfied they are with the results of their studies. Research is nothing if it is not backed up by the daily satisfaction of practitioners. That is both patients and doctors must be happy and rely on research. And here at the 7th International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Deficiency is where research is shown and certified”.

Tomorrow’s speeches will, however, focus on the applications of Sucrosomial Technology® in the treatment of iron deficiency in specific areas, such as gastroenterology, nephrology and oncology, in addition to an in-depth discussion dedicated to Patient Blood Management.
